To find nachos that truly represent the spirit of our beloved ski town. Whether you're here for the skiing or the savory snacks, we hope our journey inspires more fun on the slopes and more delightful apres-ski moments. Let's discover together the nacho gems of Park City!

Welcome to the Park City Nacho Tour

Welcome to the first entry of our weekly nacho tour in Park City! As parents juggling work and kids, my partner and I have committed to making our Friday happy hours a priority. It's our way to unwind, reconnect, and indulge in one of our shared passions: discovering the best nachos in town. Today, we're kicking off this journey with our first stop: Collie's on Main Street.

Early Season Turns at PCMR: Not Bad, but It Ain't Like Last Year!

The day at Park City Mountain Resort (PCMR) greeted us with low 20s temperatures and a slightly cloudy sky. Early season conditions meant limited runs, but that didn't dampen our spirits. We hit Homerun and Silver Skis via the Payday lift, taking advantage of the absence of lines. These runs were perfect for warming up and shaking off the dust from our skiing hiatus. On the chairlift, we chatted about the week - the funny moments with our kids and the work stress we were glad to leave behind.

Choosing Collie's

We chose Collie's for their reputed BBQ and friendly staff. Plus, we mistakenly thought we could catch the Washington/Oregon football game. Though the game timing didn't work out, our vague memory of their good nachos did. And so, our first nacho adventure began.

The Nacho Experience at Collie's

Our first stop on the nacho tour at Collie's was a promising start – we found a lot to enjoy, especially the standout pulled pork, in a generally satisfying nacho experience. Below is a detailed breakdown based on the criteria.

Her Perspective: Loved the Cheese Flavor and the Pulled Pork!

Heading into Collie's, my excitement was high. The cheese blend was just right – flavorful and melted beautifully, while the standout pulled pork added a deliciously savory layer. My only wish was for crunchier chips – it would've made a good plate even better.

His Thoughts: Surprised that the Cheese Sauce Worked, but it Did!

I'm always chasing the perfect cheese experience, and Collie’s cheese sauce surprisingly hit the spot. The pulled pork was the hero of the plate – so flavorful and well-cooked. However, the chips were a bit fragile under the weight of the toppings.

Detailed Ratings:

  • Layers (4/5):  Good mix of chips and toppings across multiple layers.

  • Portion Size:  Generous and satisfying for a hearty apres-ski snack.

  • Temperature (4/5):  Served nice and warm.

  • Cheese Quantity (5/5): Abundantly cheesy, just the way we like it.

  • Cheese Type: Sauce – Worked well with the toppings.

  • Meat: Pulled Pork – added depth to the flavor.

  • Meat Quality (5/5): The pork was well-cooked and savory.

  • Chip Sturdiness (2/5): The chips struggled a bit under the weight of the toppings.

  • Crunch Factor (4/5):  Good, but there's room for a crunchier texture.

  • Topping Spread (4/5): Toppings were well-distributed for a flavorful bite every time.

  • Price: Fair for the quality and portion size.

Overall, Collie's delivered a satisfying nacho plate that set a high standard for our future visits.

Ambiance and Service Collie's had a relaxed, friendly vibe – just right for unwinding after a day on the slopes. The service was attentive and timely, enhancing our overall experience.

Reflecting and Looking Forward As we enjoyed our nachos, we chatted about the ski season ahead and the excitement of our nacho quest to find the best nachos in Park City.
